From his website…
Many years ago, I took a pledge to protect and serve my community as a police officer. That pledge has stayed with me long after my retirement from police work. I have proudly served our community for over 20 years in many ways. I helped my neighbors for 10 years as President of the Lea Eara Farms/Summit Farms Maintenance Corporation board, where I learned what it takes to bring people together toward a better community. I coached our young people in the MOT Little League, where I saw not only my own kids, but hundreds of others grow and learn by being part of a team.
In these many years of involvement, I have seen a lot, and I have seen a lot change. Friends who had good, solid jobs now are stringing together two and three part-time jobs just to make ends meet. Our kids’ educational futures are stuck in the never-ending cycle of experimentation, gimmicks and over-testing. Our teachers are stuck in an education system that neither respects their work nor gives them hope for their future. And as more and more people descend into poverty, our communities are faced with greater addiction and crime. This is not the 10th District I used to know, and it is not the 10th District I want to see for our future.
That is why I am running for the State Senate. My desire to serve has never waned, from the day I put on a badge for the first time. My passion for helping others and being involved is stronger now than ever. I am asking for your vote so that I can go to Dover and be a part of the solution, even if that means rocking the boat from time to time.
The people who have been in power in the Senate for the last 44 years have delivered us the broken education system, deteriorating economy and $350 million deficit we now face in Delaware. The need for change couldn’t be greater. With one vote, you can restore political balance to the Legislature, and force the state to make the tough decisions necessary to get us back on track.
We are the ‘First State.’
I know our people. I know our community. We deserve to be ‘First‘ again; First in education, First in job growth, First in helping our neighbors lead a better life.
With your vote, I will go to Dover, and I will stop at nothing until the job gets done. I look forward to meeting you on the campaign trail, and I encourage you to contact me with any questions or ideas that you have.
