Talk Show Host Ellen DeGeneres Used Her Hollywood Platform to Virtue Signal Her Support for Open Borders

Ellen DeGeneres went full political on her show on Tuesday, January 31st, 2017. She used her Hollywood Platform to virtue signal to her Hollywood, Progressive audience her opposition to President Trump’s temporary travel ban on seven countries, all identified by FORMER President Obama as being countries “of risk” to American security.
Never mind the facts, she had a pro-progressive crowd and a giant Hollywood platform and she wasn’t going to waste it.
She was responding to news that President Trump screened the Disney Film, Finding Dory. DeGeneres did the voice for the main character, Dory, who has problems with short-term memory, not unlike the progressives, who have selective short-term memory (like forgetting Trump’s temporary ban was almost the same as one that FORMER President Obama did in 2011, a ban that DeGeneres had nothing to say about at the time).
She started off saying, “Thanks for being here, you are the only people not protesting right now.” That statement in and of itself reveals her thinking that everyone, of course, is a progressive.
She sets up her screening by saying, “Like I said, I don’t get political, so I’m not gonna talk about the travel ban. I’m just gonna talk about the very non-political, family-friendly, People’s Choice award-winning ‘Finding Dory.'”
Of course, she then proceeds to get highly political. A part of her commentary reads, “Even though Dory gets into America, she ends up separated from her family, but the other animals help Dory. Animals that don’t even need her. Animals that don’t have anything in common with her, They help her, even though they’re completely different colors. Because that’s what you do when you see someone in need – you help them.”
This is the tired, old tactic progressives use that goes something like this, if you’re not for doing it my way, you want to murder children in their sleep. Having a position of wanting to make sure you have the right security measures in place to let people come into your country does not mean you don’t want to help people in need. It means you want to do the basic job of the Federal government, to provide for the common defense. But again, never let facts get in your way, Ellen.
It should ALSO be pointed out that the efforts of providing a secure method for vetting people who come into the country from countries FORMER President Obama identified as security risks for the United States will actually ENABLE the United States to help more people.
Here’s how it works; you provide to the American people a clear roadmap for security, one that allows for proper vetting of people, identifying those sincerely in need and those who might have other reasons for entering the county. If you have that roadmap, then the American people will support allowing more people in need to come into the country.
57% of Americans, according to a recent Rasmussen poll, support the temporary ban. I am SURE if you provide them a clear roadmap for security, that MOST Americans will support helping more refugees. But again, Ellen goes on feels, not facts, and she may be doing more harm than good to the very people she allegedly wants to help.
Finally, she ends the show with a militant feminist statement when she says, “Tune in next week when I explain women’s rights talking about the movie, Mr. Wrong.”.
DeGeneres also starred in that movie, a story of a woman who meets a man who seems perfectly wonderful then turns out to be a clingy, insane stalker.
One last comment before we leave this virtue signaling Hollywood elite, Ellen DeGeneres. Finding Dory is a children’s movie. It’s intended to reach a broad audience, not just Ellen’s safe space progressive audience in her little studio in Hollywood.
Many people worked on this film. Many people put a lot of money into this film. Many people are hoping the film continues to make more money for them through DVD sales, merchandising, etc.
They paid DeGeneres a LOT of money to do the voice for Dory. And how did she represent? How did she pay them back? She just took a perfectly good children’s movie and turned it into a progressive agit prop piece in support of open borders.
She just cut out 57% of a potential market for further revenue because, you can be sure that those folks will no longer be interested in purchasing anything associated with this now political hot potato, Finding Dory, the story of American Open Borders, by Ellen “I just screwed everyone over who worked on this film” DeGeneres. Way to help out other people, Ellen.
